HIE’s new head of property and infrastructure

Dave Macleod has worked in the Scottish commercial property sector for more than 25 years, initially with Chesterton in Glasgow and later with Ryden in Aberdeen and Prague. He has joined HIE from FG Burnett in Aberdeen.

A member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Dave graduated as a Bachelor of Land Economy from the University of Aberdeen.

His experience spans transactional markets, valuation work and consultancy advice. In Scotland he has been involved in office, retail, industrial, educational, hotel, healthcare and drive-thru projects.

Clients have included Drum Property Group, the University of the Highlands and Islands, Baxters, Springfield Properties, Aberdeen City Council, Total, Technip FMC, RGU and Aberdeen Standard Investments.

With a father from Lewis and a mother from Lochcarron, Dave has strong links to the Highlands and Islands and has travelled and worked extensively across the region.

On joining HIE, he said:

“I am delighted to be joining HIE at a very exciting time for the region and for the agency. Our experienced property and infrastructure team is involved in an incredibly varied and interesting portfolio of projects across the Highlands and Islands.

“I will be working closely with our area teams to deliver this crucial element of economic and community development, something I will find both satisfying and rewarding.”

Carroll Buxton, HIE’s regional development director, added:

“HIE has a diverse property portfolio and is involved in a wide range of infrastructure projects across the region. Dave’s previous experience will be invaluable in working with our partners to deliver this part of our remit across the Highlands and Islands, and I am delighted to welcome him into the HIE team.”
