HIE welcomes BiFab investment

News that new investment has been secured for fabrication firm BiFab has been welcomed by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), which operates Arnish Enterprise Park on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.

HIE’s Innse Gall area manager Rachel Mackenzie said: “Today’s announcement from the First Minister is great news for the Outer Hebrides.

“Long-term investment from HIE and the Scottish Government has developed Arnish into a world-class facility where excellent infrastructure and equipment match a superb natural location for renewables manufacturing.

“Our early contact with BiFab’s new owners has been positive and constructive.  They clearly regard Lewis as a prime location and we very much look forward to working with them to develop their plans for Arnish.”
