Highland firms selected for national innovation showcase

Two companies from the Highlands have been selected for the Innovation Showcase at this year’s Venturefest Scotland.

Venturefest is an annual innovation summit which this year takes place at Glasgow Science Centre on Wednesday 20 September.

Sponsored by Marks & Clark, the Showcase will present a selection of Scotland’s most innovative companies together with their ground-breaking products and services.

Companies across tech, design and engineering, renewable energy, healthcare, medical and leisure have been selected.

Among them are Lairg based Orrin Equestrian Products, and Drumnadrochit firm Proterra Energy, which specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of micro hydro schemes.

Venturefest Scotland is designed to help high-growth Scottish SMEs and ambitious early-stage companies to grow through innovation.

The event connects business owners, entrepreneurs, investors and innovators. It provides a platform for growing companies to find the tools, advice, funding and contacts they need to take their businesses to the next level.

Registration is free and any aspiring Scottish business – in any sector – is invited to attend.

Venturefest is supported by a strong network of national and regional partners including Highlands and Islands Enterprise, InnovateUK, Glasgow City Council, Glasgow City of Science and Innovation and Scottish Enterprise.
